Ohio Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Association
The Ohio Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Association (“OLHIGA”) is an unincorporated non-profit association created and governed by Ohio Revised Code Chapter 3956.  OLHIGA is comprised of insurers, who are members of OLHIGA as a condition of their authority to transact insurance in Ohio.  The principal responsibilities of OLHIGA are to pay the covered claims (as defined by law) of insolvent insurers, and to provide a mechanism for assessment of member insurers to raise the funds needed to pay those claims.
